A two-week summer programme, Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) fostering debates in the universities about cutting edge problems. Participants choose a session that is based on their academic interest and encounter peers from all over the world in the classroom.
YYGS provides seminars in the fields of humanities, social sciences, STEM and an all-embrace transdisciplinary area.

Students encounter peers in more than 130 countries worldwide and engage in lectures where students give worldwide perspectives.
In need of financial support and grants, we offer over $3 million in discounts covering up to 100 percent of the costs of tuition.
Our 2021 sessions will be online so that all students can continue to be diverse and open globally. Last summer, we hosted our first virtual programme, which was unbelievably immersive.

One, two-week YYGS Connect programme tuition is $3,500 USD, which includes all of the program's components.
Yale Young Global Scholars emphasise a collaborative approach to learning that is accessible and exploratory. Our curriculum is structured to encourage students to learn from large lectures to small courses and even spontaneous learning in canteens and on campuses in a wide range of different universities.
With no credentials or credit for classes, YYGS encourages students to address all facets of the curriculum in an innovative way that knows their own limits. At the end of the course, the students receive an electronic finishing certificate.
The diverse and inclusive YYGS culture improves learning by welcoming students from different points of view to discuss issues. Living and working with other people from the world helps students to expand their perceptions of the world by learning about countries and cultures that they have never experienced.
The Science and Technology Innovations (IST) programme is targeted at students looking to learn about different topics in STEM fields and apply scientific concepts to real world applications. Students research a broad range of scientific disciplines, including physics, molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, astronomy, neuroscience, immunology, earth sciences and psychology. Students are often exposed to multidisciplinary applications from nanoscopic to astronomical levels through the many scientific disciplines.
Especially as scientists, participants are challenged to investigate the environment in a wide variety of biological, physical and applied science subjects. The session develops students' critical thinking and analytical abilities, while at the same time emphasising the importance of cooperation and teamwork.
The Literature, Philosophy & Culture Sessions (LPC) are built for students who want imagination and cultural texts articulated and interpreted. Studying literature, poetry, theatre, video, music, visual arts, dance and other creative arts. Participants studying fiction.
Trainees are responsible for the comparative and international framework of texts and media so students can learn about their world places more fluently and build the skills to speak and write more effectively. In inspiring solutions to social problems and dilemmas, students are given interdisciplinary and world perspectives and consider the role of the arts and the world of humanities.
Politics, Law and Economic (PLE) is a session for students with an interest in understanding the historical and comparative dimensions of diverse economic theories, principles and practises in government and legal contexts. Students study main concepts on issues like public policy, human rights, market control, systems of government, foreign policy and cross-border conflict and cooperation.
The session improves critical thinking and analytical abilities for students, allowing them to analyse current and social processes through the lenses of economic, legal and political theory. During PLE, students use interdisciplinary approaches to develop knowledge and extend their exposure to a broad range of subjects within the session topic, preparing them for global citizens to be more educated and active.
The SGC focuses on creative and interdisciplinary approaches to addressing the biggest problems the world community is facing in the 21st century. With an interdisciplinary approach, students are working to find solutions for global impact problems that are highly focused on the 17 main challenges listed under the SDGs (external links). These broad topics include environmental health, artificial intelligence, poverty reduction, protection of the environment, cyber security and gene editing.
This session provides students with opportunities to translate technical and practical information. SGC depends on a wide variety of academic disciplines, from STEM to social sciences and arts. Students can learn creative and sustainable strategies for a range of current social, economic and technological solutions in critical thinking, problem solving and innovation.
